Southern Oregon offers numerous opportunities for trophy trout fishing. Classes are great for beginners looking to get into the sport, or advanced anglers looking to perfect their skills. They can be great in preparation for a guided trip to maximize your success on Klamath Basin’s technical waters.

Fly Fishing 101

Length: 6 Hours

Location: Riverside (location varies based on time of year)

This is a comprehensive course for those looking to get into the sport. Learn the basics on:

  • Choosing the right gear (rods, reels, line, leader & tippet)

  • Knots

  • Casting

  • Entomology and fly selection

  • Reading the water

  • Fly presentation

  • Fish behavior

Note: This class is more focused on learning and offers minimal fishing time. For those looking to just fish, we offer guided trips for beginners as well.

Cost: $150 per person

Casting

Length: 2 Hours

Location: Varies

Focused on honing in your skills, this class can be tailored to your needs. Topics include:

  • Roll Casting

  • Hauling

  • Casting from a drift boat

  • Distance casting

We highly recommend this for those fishing the Klamath Basin. Stillwater fishing often requires casting of 60+ feet to be successful.
