tsiu river

The Tsiu is a remote coastal stream in Southeast Alaska that is well known as the best coho salmon fishery in the state. It is estimated that between 60,000-100,000 coho enter the river each summer to spawn. Steelhead, Dolly Varden, Pink Salmon, and Sockeye are also caught. The river is loved by experienced and beginner anglers all the same. These fish are aggressive enough that a beginner can catch 20+ fish a-day on a fly. They also love to fight hard and jump, and offer unique opportunities for avid fly fisherman such as throwing poppers in the shallows.

Hosted trips are available by special request and take place at Dierick’s Tsiu River Lodge, of which Chuck was former lead guide. The benefits to a hosted trip include all logistics being taken care of, all flies/leader/tippet are covered, an additional lodge guide, and a guarantee that you will fish with one of the best, most-experienced guides on the river.
